Driving out of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, after a couple of days shooting important sequences for my next documentary film—a bald eagle flew over the highway. She was a beautiful raptor, unexpected in my imagination of the Osage country, and winging westbound at treetop level—almost close enough to touch. At least it felt that way…
